If you’re in the LGBTQ+ community and trying to figure out where you stand with God, it can feel messy. You might feel like your heart is saying one thing and the Bible is saying another. That’s a real tension, and if you're sitting in that space right now, you're not the only one. You're not broken. You're not faithless. You're just human—and you’re searching.
Asking hard questions doesn’t make you weak. Doubting, struggling, wrestling with God—that’s not the opposite of faith. That is faith. It means you're actually engaging, not just going through the motions. God isn’t scared of your questions or your emotions. He already knows your heart, and He still wants you close. He’s not waiting for you to be perfect—He’s waiting for you to be honest.
Here’s something a lot of people miss: God’s plan for you has never been about shame. It’s not about guilt-tripping you into obedience or scaring you into submission. His plan is about love. Real love. The kind that sees you fully, even the parts you’re unsure of, and still says, “You belong.” Even when your desires or identity feel like they’re clashing with what you read in the Bible, remember—God’s grace isn’t limited by your confusion. His patience is endless, and He’s not rushing your process.
The thing is, God is God. Not a spiritual vending machine or a life coach who just affirms whatever we want. He knows the path that leads to life, and following Him means sometimes letting go of our assumptions—even the ones that feel deeply personal. A lot of people come to God with their minds already made up, asking Him to fit into their plans. But the real journey? It's about asking, "God, what do You want? What does Your Word actually say, even when it's hard?"
And that doesn’t mean you have to shut off your heart or stop asking questions. God invites all of it. Bring your tension. Bring your doubts. Bring your story. He’s not looking for you to have it all together—He’s looking for a relationship.
Trusting God isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about choosing to follow Him even when things don’t fully make sense. It’s saying, “I’m not sure where this is going, but I trust that You do.” That’s surrender. And from that place, God begins to shape your heart—not by pressure or fear, but with kindness. His love doesn’t force you—it invites you.
And through it all, one thing never changes: God’s love for you. It’s steady. It’s secure. It doesn’t depend on how well you perform or whether you’ve “got it all right.” His truth isn’t here to crush you—it’s here to ground you. That truth is built on Jesus—the same Jesus who sat with the outcast, loved without filters, and offered grace even to those still figuring it out.
Just because God loves you where you are doesn’t mean He wants you to stay there. Real love invites growth, and following Jesus means being open to change. That change might feel scary, but grace is what carries you through it. Grace is always there. So take a deep breath. Keep asking. Keep showing up. God’s not done writing your story.
And hey—if you feel like you’re the only one wrestling with this, you’re not. All around the world, people are choosing Jesus over what used to define them. Not because it’s easy, but because He’s worth it. There’s a real community out there—people who’ve found love, identity, and purpose by walking with Jesus. And like God says in His Word, there is a future and a hope for you. That promise still stands.
If you’re walking this path, take heart. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to fake it. And you definitely don’t have to walk alone. There’s hope for you. There’s purpose. And there’s a God who wants to walk with you—step by step, heart to heart.
God’s plan? It’s always better than anything we could dream up. So if you’re willing to seek Him with honesty and an open heart, He will meet you right where you are.
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13
If this hit home for you—or if someone you love needs to hear it—don’t keep it to yourself. Share it. Talk about it. Make space for grace.
You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re not too far gone. And no matter what anyone else has told you—God is not done with your story.
If you want to talk or find out more about who Jesus really is, reach out. Seriously. You don’t have to do this alone.
